Bowen Therapy is a non-invasive physical therapy for relief from pain & restricted movement & is a popular choice for;
rehabilitation following injury or surgery
issues in the musculoskeletal system
addressing compensatory patterns of movement
general physical maintenance to keep you at the top of your game in competitive or non-competitive sports
as a boost to your overall wellbeing.
The therapist makes gentle but firm rolling moves over specific points of the body which create a disturbance in the
layers of 'fascia' (a type of connective tissue rich in nerve receptors). The session is interspersed with 2 minute breaks which allow the brain & nervous system to process, recalibrate & effect changes within the body.
Typical results reported by clients after a series of 2 to 4 successive sessions are:
notable reductions in pain or discomfort, reduced stiffness & increased range of functional movement, improved posture & a feeling of restored 'balance', improved sleep patterns & a general boost to overall wellbeing.
A typical session addresses all muscle groups from the legs, into the abdomen, up the spine to the upper body, neck & head. Subsequent sessions may focus on more specific areas depending on the client's presenting symptoms.
