Frequently asked questions
Here are some of the questions I get asked regularly in my human & animal clinics.
If you can't find the answer you are looking for please get in touch
Does Bowen Therapy hurt?
No - Bowen Therapy is a very gentle, non-invasive technique that moves soft tissue only. It is safe for babies & the very elderly & those in acute pain. The aim of Bowen Therapy is to trigger the body's own ability to make changes via the nervous system & to do this we don't need to make any harsh adjustments or use heavy/deep pressure. Can you help with bad back?
Yes - The main service I would offer for back pain is The Bowen Technique. Occasionally however the cause of back issues can be caused by the presence of a scar, such as an abdominal scar from previous surgery for example. When you visit me as a new client for Bowen Therapy I always make note of any scars you have to assess if McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release therapy would be indicated. What can Bowen Therapy treat?
Bowen Therapy is a holistic technique so we treat the person/animal not the specific symptoms. As a Bowen Technique practitioner I am not qualified to diagnose or prescribe & I cannot say I treat specific conditions. However many symptoms - including muscular, internal & emotional - respond favourably to this technique. To find out more click here
