INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE
Traditionally practiced between family members & taught to children from an early age to nurture strong bonds within the family, Indian Head Massage has become a popular form of massage in the West for;
relaxation
upper body & neck tension
stress
headaches
A 30 min Indian Head Massage provides a time of complete relaxation during which the client can switch off & take time out from their busy life.
It involves gentle massage of the upper back, neck, face & scalp to stimulate blood flow & lymphatic drainage to relieve tension in the tissues & help the excretion of built up toxins.
It is a very versatile technique which can be practiced with the client seated or lying supine. It is common, but not necessary, for aromatherapy oils in a grapeseed carrier oil to be used during an Indian Head Massage & the client can remain completely clothed or with their top removed if they wish (the client's modesty will be protected at all times).
Each massage session will be tailored to the individual depending on their needs.

REIKI
Reiki is an energy therapy rather than a physical therapy which releases energy blockages within the body to restore physical, mental & emotional balance & wellbeing.
Reiki means "Universal life force energy" in Japanese & this life force energy was first discovered by Mikao Usui in the 1920s. He went on to develop the technique which is now widely practiced across the globe becoming popular for;
relaxation
rebalancing the body's energy processes
stress & anxiety
relief from emotional upheaval
Clients often report responses such as improved sleep patterns, reduced pain levels, increased relaxation & a greater feeling of peace during challenging times.
During a Reiki session the client remains clothed & either sits or lies down while the therapist uses various hand positions to 'transmit' the Reiki energy. The therapist will either use very light direct touch or hold their hands above the body or a combination of both.
The client usually enters a deep state of relaxation & may experience emotional release or unusual physical or visual sensations, such as tingling or bright colours.
Reiki sessions usually last upto 45mins. Some people who aren't able to attend an appointment in person may opt for a distance Reiki session instead.
